Privacy Policy
The short version: Your contract is analyzed and immediately discarded. PII is stripped automatically. Only your results are saved. We never sell your data.
1. What we collect
When you use ContractShield, we collect:
- Account information — your email address and encrypted password when you sign up.
- Analysis results — the risk scores, clause summaries, key dates, and negotiation scripts generated from your document. These are saved to your account history.
- Usage data — how many analyses you've run, your subscription status, and basic app usage metrics.
2. What we do NOT collect
- Your original contract documents. Documents are analyzed and immediately discarded — they are never stored on our servers.
- Personally identifiable information (PII) within your documents. We automatically strip Social Security numbers, email addresses, and phone numbers before processing.
- Payment card details. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your card number.
3. How we use your data
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the ContractShield service
- Save your analysis history so you can reference past results
- Process payments and manage your subscription via Apple's App Store
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
- Improve the accuracy and quality of our analysis
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data storage and security
Your account data and analysis results are stored in Supabase, a SOC 2-compliant database platform. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your information.
5. Third-party services
ContractShield uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes document text for analysis. Document content is sent to Anthropic's API and governed by Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Supabase — stores your account and analysis history.
- Apple App Store — handles all payment processing via In-App Purchase. We never see or store card details.
6. Data retention
We retain your account and analysis history for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account screen in the app. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, delete your account from within the app or contact us at support@getcontractshield.app.
8. Children's privacy
ContractShield is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
